Having now had time to process the horrific events of Monday night's suicide bombing attack in Manchester, I wanted to offer my thoughts, which I have set out here.
Much of the content of this website was established while I was a Member of Parliament. As Parliament has been dissolved there are no MPs until after the General Election on 8 June 2017.
Busy day today in Bournemouth attending my last few engagements as an MP before Parliament is dissolved on Tuesday and I begin the election campaign as candidate for Bournemouth East once again.
Last week, I wrote to the Chairman of Bournemouth East Conservative Association to seek re-nomination as their Conservative Candidate for Bournemouth East in the General Election on June 8th.
This week, Theresa May announced her intention to call a General Election and yesterday, MPs including myself from across the House voted in agreement with her by 522 votes to 13 (a majority of 509). This means that on Thursday 8th June, the UK will be having a General Election.
I would like to extend my thanks for the many kind words sent to me following last week’s terrorist attack in Westminster, a day that will live with me for a long time.
Last night, the Brexit vote was passed through the House of Commons without the House of Lords' amendments being agreed to, and the House of Lords subsequently passed the bill in its original form.
