Busy day today in Bournemouth attending my last few engagements as an MP before Parliament is dissolved on Tuesday and I begin the election campaign as candidate for Bournemouth East once again.
Started by opening a new block of over 50 flats on Christchurch Road in Boscombe - a fantastic project that will provide some much-needed good quality housing stock for the area. Many thanks to Steve Wells of DWP Housing Partnership and his team for showing us around - it was great to also meet the two very passionate entrepreneurs behind the new 'Coffee and Dice' venture which will occupy one of the business spaces at the street level of the block, and give locals the chance to enjoy a cup of coffee and choose from a selection of board games to play and enjoy!
Thanks also to staff and students at St. Peter's Catholic School in Southbourne for inviting me to the opening ceremony of their new teaching block, The Brother Bernard Building, named after one of the school's much-loved Headmasters. The block is astounding and offers students an incredible space in which to learn, and I enjoyed speaking to the children who were all so enthusiastic about the school and it's new facilities.
