I appreciate that ‘Partygate’ has received a lot of attention over the past 6 months, and is becoming very draining for us all.
Partygate wasn’t just one incident, but a symbol of culture and lack of leadership in No.10. We don’t expect this kind of behaviour when our country prides itself on being an exemplar.
We have now had our say by casting our votes in the Vote of No Confidence earlier this month, and we must honour the democratic outcome of the Vote of No Confidence result. That being said, the PM must recognise that 2/5 MPs have highlighted their serious concerns regarding the style and substance of his leadership.
There is clearly a lot of thinking to be done within the Party, and we need to unite and come together if we are to win the next election. I hope that we can get through this phase and move on.
