Police and Crime

1
Put more police on the beat
2
Cut police paperwork
3
Build more prisons
4
Cut back on political correctness
5
End Labour's early release scheme

Conservatives believe our society needs more respect, discipline and decent values. We will cut political correctness and police paperwork and put more police on the beat.

Labour
Labour claim to support making our streets safer but are intent on introducing 24hr licensing laws. They are also preventing police from getting on with their jobs because of increased red tape.

Lib Dems
The Lib Dems want to give murderers the vote, let off many first time offenders and send car thieves go-karting.

Increasing Police numbers in Bournemouth
Tobias has secured the support of local Labour Councillors behind a proposal (put forward by Conservative and Independent Councillors) to charge a levy on town centre pubs and clubs to pay for the additional police coverage the area now demands.

Presently almost half of Bournemouth police on night duty are required to look after the town centre. This initiative, which already applies to football matches (where the price of a ticket includes a small charge towards meeting the extra policing costs) would mean the rest of Bournemouth gets the coverage it deserves. Only the Lib Dems are opposed to this idea.
