Mayank Anand, a research student in BU’s School of Design, Engineering & Computing, recently attended the SET for Britain at the House of Commons in London. SET for Britain is an annual national research conference which is organized by The Parliamentary and Scientific Committee and aims at promoting early-stage and early-career research scientists, engineers and technologists of Britain.
Tobias visited the SPARC Programme held by Dorset Fire and Rescue Service at Springbourne Fire Station as students completed their week’s course.
Tobias along with Jon Dunne of Charles Higgins and a team of people gathered at Shelley Manor Theatre in Boscombe Manor to help construct the chairs, which he helped to secure from the IMAX before its demolition started.

On the 20th of September, Tobias visited King’s Park Primary School in Bournemouth for their ‘Going for Gold’ campaign. The Year 4 pupils that participated are helping to highlight the fact that over 67 million children around the world are still missing out on an education. The petition they created calls on the Prime Minister to fulfil his promise for all children across the globe to be given the opportunity of schooling by 2015.
